The current Board of Supervisors is considering raising taxes on us again. How much can we take before we are priced out of our homes, neighborhoods, have pick up and leave our communites? I don't want to move out of state and leave San Diego, but unless changes are made, many of us are faced with that possibility. We can do something - together we say NO to more taxes.
We can use our leverage as a large county to push on the State to pause the gas tax.
We must take back our government from special interests.

The County had failed in providing basic maintenance of its storm channels, creeks and roads. In many cases, including my own, the County was warned for years that there was a problem. They failed to act.
They denied the claims of thousands of people who found themsleves without a home, with a destoyed home, a destroyed business, and a destroyed life. We the flood victims had to sue the County. What did the County do? Hired a big name San Francisco law firm to make it as difficult as it could be for the residents who had already suffered so much loss.
This is wrong. If elected I will demand that the County settle with all flood victims. I want justice!
Not excuses!

Across District 4, we're seeing more proposals for high-density development that threaten the character of our established communities. Growth should be thoughtful—not forced.
New development must respect existing neighborhoods, protect our quality of life, and ensure our roads, schools, parks, water systems, and public safety services can keep up. We shouldn't sacrifice the communities families have spent generations building just to satisfy short-term development goals.
Smart planning means listening to residents, preserving neighborhood character, addressing traffic and infrastructure, and requiring new projects to fit the communities they're joining.
Many cities across the state have the same requirements for housing that San Diego does. But, they are satisfying the need for housing without changing community character. There's a reason cities such as Santa Barbara don't have high rises popping up in established neghborhoods. That reason is because they understand planning.
As your County Supervisor, I'll bring my expertise in land use to fight for responsible growth that puts residents first.
